Brokeback

I watched Brokeback Mountain yesterday which was probably the most-talked about film of the year. It didn’t win the Oscars though. I thought it was okay. It was not as super-awesome as other Oscar-caliber films I saw like Forrest Gump or Life is Beautiful. But it was just aight. It was actually just a simple love story of a not-very-simple relationship. Well, this isn’t the first gay film made. But what probably made it unique from other gay films (as if I’ve watched a lot of gay films before…lol!) is that it presented the relationship in a very humane or normal way (I’m not sure if you got that hehe). But for conservative and innocent viewer like me *roll-eyes*, I felt the love and compassionate between the two men. They needed each other, that is. But I find it strange especially for Ennis del Mar (Heath Ledger) who seemed to be perfectly normal before he met Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal). Until now, I am not quite sure if he really was gay because without that Jack factor, he could be considered 100% straight. Unlike Jack who have to do something to feed his gay needs (gosh I hope I’m using the right terms here), Ennis can live without those things. The ending was quite sad. And surprisingly, I felt that sadness. Oh by the way, before watching this on the video, I was expecting some Monster’s-Ball-like love scenes. Well, I was wrong. The love scenes were not that explicit but quite funny especially the first one. Oh yeah I know, I’m immature *roll-eyes (again)*.

Moving on…

I’m having a Mcpheever right now. I’m excited what Katharine would sing on Wednesday! Oh please Ace, don’t screw up again. One more cheesy song and I’m giving up on you! Lol! I’m seriously and overly annoyed with Kellie Fake-ler now. The Carrie-comparison and Simon’s blind pimping are just too much!

Katharine McPhee

Omg, Rustom is really gay! No, that's not the topic.

Here's Katharine during her "Since I Fell For You" performance. I fell in love with the song. Her version was flawless and effortless! I'm quite surprised that Bonnie Raitt also had a version of this song (the same artist who sang "I Can't Make You Love Me" - love love this song too).

Last wednesday, she did "All in Love is Fair". It was too slow and too boring for AI. The judges were disappointed with her choice of song. I personally loved it (biased eh). And I thought it was a wonderful ballad (a Stevie Wonder original). Katharine had obvious off-notes..those eeeh-eahh-eeaheae part (I'm crazy..lol). She probably went too far..note styling/acrobatics can be dangerous. BUT.. overall it was still beautiful. There's so much emotions into it. She sounded like she's so sad and crying. The first part was haunting too.

Oh forget Ace! His performance sucked and his song choice ("If You're Not the One" - > corneee!) is vocally challenging. I hate to say this but he was out of tune! That Daddy Daddy song last week was okay, I mean 100% better! I'm giving him a chance..As for now, he remains my bet....and that's because he still looks hot. Eeew! And no, I don't have gay vibes in him.

Elliot looked like a geek...really...but he sounded really amazing. Chris, with his Rob-Thomas-vocals, wowed everyone. IMO, the show is too cheesy for him. He should join Rockstar..I heard there will be a second season.
