Sunday night ramblings

I finally saw The Classic. I can’t say that I am disappointed. It was a beautiful film, really. Jo In Sung (although he plays a minor role) is still cute. And it also stars one of my favorite Korean female stars – Son Ye Jin (her acting is still great). I guess I expected too much from it. All of the reviews I’ve read before gave high praises on the movie. Again, it wasn’t that disappointing. It’s just that I wasn’t moved by it. There are some boring scenes… or say some clichés. But I think the story is really nice. But the down side of it is that you know those types of stories only happen in movies. Hehe. The director of this movie also made My Sassy Girl and Windstruck. I noticed some similarities: the female lead plays the piano, rain scenes (which I think is ‘cinematically’ good), the main character does the storytelling, and the combination of humor and drama. Of the three movies, I’d say that My Sassy Girl was the most enjoyable to watch. But it had the simplest story. Windstruck almost made me cry. Although I find the last part corny (when the dead guy Myungwoo came back to see Kyunjin, the female lead, for the last time), I still think it was a good prequel movie. And The Classic… well its story is definitely more twisted, more dramatic, it’s deeper, lesser humor and I guess the most serious among the three. By the way, read this. I have read a lot of reviews from this person and I agree with her most of the time. She’s right, it was an entertaining movie but it did lack the “wow” factor.

I slept the whole afternoon that’s why I’m still awake right now. You see, it’s already 2 am. My neighbor’s cats are making these weird sounds! This one female cat (I assume it’s a female) sounds like a 5-year old girl crying. It honestly sounded so human!! I’m not kidding! I thought these cats must have seen ghosts! You see, there were some whitelady and ghost stories here in our neighborhood before. But my sister said these cats are just having sex. Well… she’s probably right. But why is she crying like that? If my sister is right, then that cat must probably be in great pain! Hahaha!

Yesterday, I bought a book entitled “What Should I Do With My Life?” by Po Bronson. I have never read a self-help book before. This is going to be the first time. It’s not that I feel like I’m lost or that I have no direction in life. Actually… I feel like I am… no, not really, definitely not. Or maybe I’m still confused. I’m always confused! Duh! Well, simply put, I just want to read some inspiring stories. It contains about 20 different stories. So it’s probably like a Chicken Soup for the Soul – something like that!

Let me talk about the latest happenings on TV! American Idol Season 5 has started and so far I have no bet! Hehe. But I do like that black girl named Paris with a famous grandma. I think she has the nicest voice so far. But I want to see a male rocker shine this time. The Celebrity Edition of Pinoy Big Brother has also started. I don’t get to see it everyday because of work, but so far it’s okay. Most of the female celebs don’t wear make up. That I think is good. I particularly hated this one housemate in season one who does nothing all day but put make on her face, iron her hair and backbite someone she calls her close friend. Do I have to say her name? She thinks she’s so pretty, well she isn’t that ugly, but I just hated the fact that she talks and acts like she’s 18 years old when in fact she already like…26?! I always change the channel when I see her face on TV! She sucks! Yay! I am so mean!! Hehe!

The cats have stopped making those eerie sounds. They’re probably finished doing ‘it’. Hehe.
